Chapter Seven — Peace/Human Rights/American Values:
We’re All in This Together

Forging a renewed commitment to peace will require of the American people a rediscovery of the fundamental principles that guided the conception of our republic. The Constitution requires that the United States may engage in war only through a declaration by Congress. We the people elect our representatives, so peace can start only when we elect leaders who will represent the values and principles that truly serve the ends of peace and not merely the exertion of military might in ways that invite condemnation from other nations for what they view as aggressive, self-serving overreach.
