The challenge now is for everyone locally to pick up the chant — from each household, community, state and nation — and realize that the planet’s resources are finite. Such concerns are nothing less than essential for America’s long-term national security. We must accept the challenge to provide for ourselves, and those who follow us, the clean energy, clean air and clean water that a just, prosperous and peaceful society should bequeath to future generations.
